Coriander is not just a spice but also an effective medicine. According to Ayurved, coriander maintains the equilibrium of tridoshas, relieves swelling, pain, improves digestive fire, helps in digestion, it activates liver, quenches thirst, overcomes blood impurities, kapha, makes the brain active, brings down the temperature. It contains an evaporable oil, therefore it should be stored in airtight jars and kept in cool place otherwise it could lose its medicinal quality if the oil evaporates.
